Trafic (Traffic) is a 1971 Italian-French comedy film directed by Jacques Tati. Trafic was the last film to feature Tati's famous character of Monsieur Hulot, and followed the vein of earlier Tati films that lampooned modern society.

Tati ble mest kjent for den lett åndsfraværende Monsieur Hulot, karakteristisk fremstilt med hatten på skrå, pipe, paraply og et merkelig ganglag. He wrote and starred in all his films, often playing the role of Monsieur Hulot. He was among the most innovative and influential comic filmmakers of the 20th century. Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati’s endearing clown, takes a holiday at a seaside resort, where his presence provokes one catastrophe after another. Tati’s masterpiece of gentle slapstick is a series of effortlessly well-choreographed sight gags involving dogs, boats, and firecrackers; it was the first entry in the Hulot series and the film that launched its maker to international stardom. Tati removed Mr. Hulot’s Holiday from circulation in September 1959, envisioning first a virtual remake and then a substantial revision in terms of both editing and the soundtrack, and over eight years later, in late 1967, when this feature and most of Tati’s others went into escrow due to his bankruptcy, it was removed from circulation Jacques Tati, the French actor, writer and director who created the memorable bungler Hulot in ''Mr. Hulot's Holiday,'' and whose ''Mon Oncle'' won the 1958 Oscar for foreign picture, died of a Jacques Tati’s gloriously choreographed, nearly wordless comedies about confusion in an age of high technology reached their apotheosis with PlayTime. For this monumental achievement, a nearly three-year-long, bank-breaking production, Tati again thrust the lovably old-fashioned Monsieur Hulot, along with a host of other lost souls, into a baffling modern world, this time Paris.
